1. You spend the majority of your day rolling your four month old from his stomach to his back...because he has only learned to roll one way and screams hysterically when he has to do "tummy time" for too long...even though it was his fault in the first place. :-)
2. The majority of the clothes you now own are covered in spit up stains but you really don't care because you will hopefully be wearing a smaller size soon anyways!
3. You used to "FREAK OUT" at the sight of any bodily fluids, but don't think twice when your child pees on you and laughs while doing it! *grin*
4. You've resulted to putting your hair in ponytails everyday...not only because you no longer have the time to see to your own appearance, but that your child is going through the "pulling Mommy's hair phase". Not to mention, any hair not tied back is a sure fire target for spitup which, trust me, causes the WORST tangles you can possibly imagine.
5. Bathtime (for yourself) includes praying that your 4 month old chooses NOT to poop on you! As most of us Mommies know it is so much quicker and easier to give them a quick wash while we're in the tub too...quite the time saver! :-)
6. Playtime with the hubby is penciled in...not inked in! :-( And spontanaeity is always a pleasant surprise! *BIG GRIN*
7. Your friends suddenly change, and even though you're not quite sure why, it seems to have something to do with your new neighbors, who also have children, because they don't become uncomfortable when you find joy in rambling about your child, as previous friends did...but join in the conversation...and understand that discussing things like the color of your newborn's poop is "normal"! (You know who you are...we love you guys...thanks for being the best friends EVER!)
8. You've learned that even though black is slimming, it also shows the spit up more...so, it's easier to avoid it.
9. Your car, home, and every aspect of life has been overtake by toys...toys and MORE TOYS! Which makes me happy until I step on them at 2am when I'm half out of it with sleep deprivation!
10. And last but not least, you know you're a new mom when the greatest feeling the world comes from standing over your child's crib and enjoying the sound of their breathing, and at the same moment, the joy of the quiet that comes with that moment! *smile*
I LOVE YOU NOAH WHATELY...THANK YOU FOR MAKING ME A MOMMY! :-)
